Doug plays a Brian Moore iM series 3 voice Les Paul style guitar with standard humbucking pickups, a piezo acoustic bridge and a built in 13 pin synth pickup.  He has an additionally mounted Roland GK-2 13 pin synth pickup, thus providing four distinct guitar outputs.  The standard pickups run into a Johnson J Station preamp providing a variety of amp settings and effects from clean to overdrive and runs in stereo to the sound board.  The piezo bridge pickup provides an acoustic sound and runs direct in mono to the sound board.  The built in 13 pin synth pickup runs into a Roland VG-99 virtual guitar system which can emulate almost any type of guitar whether it’s acoustic, electric, 6 or 12 string and runs in stereo to the sound board.  The externally mounted 13 pin synth pickup runs into a Roland GR-30 guitar synthesizer which provides a variety of sounds like keyboards, strings, woodwinds and brass and runs in stereo to the sound board.  On the floor Doug has a Hammond XPK-200 midi bass pedal unit connected to an additional Roland GR-30 guitar synthesizer providing strictly bass guitar sounds and runs in mono to the sound board.  Doug uses a custom set of balanced tension D'Addario Chromes flatwound guitar strings in the gauges of .012-.016-.020-.028-.038-.052.

Inky plays a standard 4 piece DW Pacific drum kit with a mix of Zildjian and Sabian cymbals and uses Vader drum sticks.  His bass drum is amplified with an AKG D112 MKII microphone and an Audix  microphone amplifies his snare and high hat.  For acoustic gigs he uses a set of LP bongos.

All of Back Pages’ devices run directly into a Yamaha MG20XU 20 channel sound board which then feeds into a Bose F1 Model 812 system with F1 subs.  The microphones are Shure SM58's and the monitor system is all run through headphones.
